Paul Carter
Paul Carter is the Executive Chef at The Phoenician. According to Carter, “Perfecting simplicity” is the essence to great food. Chef Carter’s worldwide background has provided him with a culinary expertise that far exceeds his 17 years of cooking. His love affair with the kitchen dates back to his early teens. A native of London, Carter attended Colchester Institute of Culinary Arts in Essex, at the young age of 15. Upon earning a three-year culinary degree, he began his cooking career at the Hotel Sonnenhügel in Bad Kissingham, Germany where he held the title of Commis de Cuisine. He later served in the same capacity at Chateau de Montreil in France for three years. After rising through the ranks in the kitchens, he moved to the venerable Connaught Hotel in London. In 1992, Carter moved to the United States to head up kitchens at world-class resorts. Prior to joining The Phoenician, he was Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Cleveland, Ohio.
Jennifer W. Brown
Jennifer W. Brown, CMP is a Partner at Meeting Sites Resource, a global specialist in meeting site research and hotel/contract negotiations. MSR also offers full-service planning and Staff On-Site (SOS) for professional on-site meeting management/logistics support. Corporate offices are in Irvine, California with satellite offices located in San Diego, Long Beach, Palm Desert, Kansas City, New York and Dallas. The company services over 300 meetings annually. Jennifer was formerly Director of the Meeting Services Department for Price Waterhouse LLP for 15 years, and was responsible for more than 150 conferences, training and management meetings annually. She has contributed to articles in major trade publications, has presented workshops for the past seven years for the Hyatt Basics meeting-planning curriculum, is a faculty member of Meeting Professionals International and NYU and was selected by MPI to serve as an educator for the Platinum Series Workshops.
Jennifer has been a member of MPI for 21 years and is past president of the Southern California Chapter. Jennifer was selected by MPI as one of 10 goodwill ambassadors to travel to Singapore and Japan and participate in the MPI Asia Forum. She earned her CMP in 1992 and has won such awards as MPI’s Planner of the Year in 1987 and was a recognition recipient of MPI’s Global Paragon Award in 1997. She is a graduate of Woodbury University with a BS degree in Business Administration.

Larry was the #1 ranked speaker at the Inc. Magazine Workforce 2000 Conference. He has been invited to speak at eight International Customer Service Association Conferences.
